It a question that I get asked time and time again. “Dave, who do I need to employ to make XMPie a success?” Some people believe that data professionals are the key. Some people say design.
However, and in my opinion none of these are as important as a project manager / account director. Essentially, if you are looking to become successful producing cross media campaigns then you will do no wrong in finding someone that can help the client develop the initial idea and to control implementing the campaign.
Without this individual companies are at risk of not putting enough focus on the business, and ultimately not making the most of the software.
Have you fulfilled this role? How you succeeded without someone like this? Let me know.
I agree with you Dave!
But that is my take on it.
The project manager is one of the key components, to build campaigns in a specified time frame and make sure all the phases are completed on time, aiming to the objectives of the campaign and keep the ball moving with all the people involved.
Briefing, Planning, Development and Testing are important components to be addressed Designers, DBA and Programmers knows their parts. However, the project manager is who will keep track and assign tasks accordingly to ensure a smooth delivery process to the final customer.
The project manager can also help sales as a pre-sales and post-sales point of contact for the customer, to help gather information and give status updates as it happens. Also during the execution of the campaign modifications can be done to refine specific steps of the campaign in order to obtain a higher ROI. Hence the point of contact internally and externally is important to accommodate those changes on a stellar time.
In the end, does not matter WHO is important to have successful XMPie implementation, yet if the processes are in place. The best implantations are those who look to have their customer satisfied.
