Christmas

#187 – Twas the Night before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

#185 – Christmas is nearing

A simple image this evening, without much explanation to go along with it.

#182 – Christmas Nativity Number Two

Nativity play number two today. This time it was Josh’s. It was worth a chuckle seeing the number of tab-top curtains that had been used in the making of king’s capes, and the introduction of Derby County football scarfs into the nativity scene!

#181 – Christmas wrapping is nearing completion

Another night and more wrapping has been completed. Only a few more items to do now and I am all done! Woop!

#177 – Christmas Decorations

Another evening of Christmas wrapping. I’m nearly done, I think, but I keep finding more things to wrap! So much so I can’t seem to find the scissors! Hmm…

#176 – All wrapped up

Christmas shopping, done? Check. Christmas Cards done? Erm, sort of! Christmas presents wrapped? Oh feck! Oh hark, the sound of wrapping paper falling about the lounge floor. The joys.

#175 – Who’s idea were these cards?

It was one of those, “it seemed like a good idea at the time” ideas! Now though I am regretting it somewhat. Designing and creating the cards was the easy bit, but you would expect that given my background! The trouble seemed to have started when I tried to get them printed on my humble inkjet printer. Getting the stock to feed in the right way, with the right orientation, with the correct front and back images has seen numerous cards relegated to the waste bin. I know, I should’ve just taken them down to the nearest high street printer with a decent engine!

Alas, I will get there!

#174 – Christmas run continues

After successfully completing the vast bulk of my Christmas shopping at the weekend, aided and abetted by Rachael, I’ve turned my attention to Christmas cards. I suppose that working for the company that I do, I have to create my own personalised cards!

So, a few hours in PhotoShop and InDesign and I have the makings of the 2011 Christmas Cards ready to start printing.

#168 – Christmas decorations are up.

Well, I’ve not been able to hold it off for any longer. Christmas is coming and there’s no denying that fact any longer. So, I have surrendered and brought the decorations down from the roof and helped the kids put them up around the house. I’m even trying not to re-arrange the Christmas tree’s decorations after the kids put them on!

#133 – Step away from the Santa

A quiet Sunday today, with a quick trip into town to pick up a few bits and pieces. Now, don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the festive period but I have to say, “step away from the Santas” when October is not even over and Halloween is still not upon us. I need time to adjust to Christmas, and October is far to early!
